The marathons of the last three years were an effort to put Poetry at the center of our lives to help us face all the pandemics that decimated the human condition all over the world: covid-19, countless wars in Ukraine, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, the avalanche of lies at all levels of human behavior, corruption and lack of socio-political impunity and abandonment of justice in the social and racial fabric of every country in the world. There are reasons to feel powerless, for everything seems to have lost its center. We believe that by raising the flag of Poetry we continue to insist on the need to push the world towards truth, justice and decency and we feel compelled to put pressure on these parameters again, because, although we are in a much better position now than we were three years ago, we still have a long way to go. |
