EMBRACING DREAMS”

TEATRO DE LA LUNA invites Spanish-speaking actors over 18 to audition for its 20th season, Embracing Dreams. The season will include its two mainstage productions, playreading performances and daytime children’s shows. The theatre is also interested in bilingual actors who will provide live English dubbing during specified productions.

Through the Experience Theater program, this event is dedicated to promoting the beauty of the Spanish language and awakening our young people’s interest in poetry and literature. Students recite original poems or those of their favorite poets in Spanish.

Parents and educators are encouraged to contact Teatro de la Luna at an early date to sign up their students - space is limited!

Teatro de la Luna invites Spanish-speaking adults and teens 16 and over (prior theatrical experience is not necessary) to AUDITION for its Playreading Workshops. This workshop series will focus on training actors in text interpretation and analysis of three theatrical pieces by Latin American playwrights.

A Night of Romance 

for Valentine’s Day

Join the magical voices of Dayan Aldana and Cristian Villavicencio (guitar), Alex Alburqueque and Alvaro Rodríguez as they sing well-known and lesser-known Spanish-language love songs in three-quarter time. Artistic direction Mario Marcel.

Sip a glass of wine and dance the evening away to the passion and romance of the Bolero.

Seating is cabaret style.  A cash bar and concession of typical foods will be available.

In this black comedy, a simple, industrious woman basks in the affection of her children and in-laws.  All gather to celebrate her birthday.  Underneath their facades lie egoism, wants and falsehoods which erupt into a delirious, grotesque game, ending with an unexpected sense of rediscovery.

A discussion will follow the playreading between the audience, actors and director. The evening will culminate with a Vin d’honneur.
