"¡Siempre Luna Llena!" / "Always a Full Moon!" marks the 36th season for

Teatro de la Luna - and it is a time to celebrate. We have an ambitious and appealing

new lineup of music, poetry and theater plus actor training workshops series for all ages.

 
 

SEASON LINEUP

 

INTERNATIONAL MONOLOGUE FESTIVAL… plus TANGO

           will enchant our audiences from September 30 to October 25, 2026,

           with guest productions from Uruguayan, Ecuadorean and Colombian stars.

 

     ● "Unforgettable Petru" starring Petru Valenski, a stand-up comedy

          on Wednesday, September 30, Thursday October 1 & Friday October 2, 8pm.

 

     ● "Mi Vida entre comerme un pan y no romperme un hueso" a stand-up comedy

          created and performed by Juana Estrella, October 9, 10 & 11.

 

     ● "Mi Gente Latino" created and performed by Ricardo de la Vega Domínguez

          October 15, 16 & 17.

 

     ● "Tango Eternamente Gardel / Tango" tango show with singer Ana María Pfeiff

          musical direction and bandoneonist Emmanuel Trifilio, October 23, 24 & 25.

 

            NOTES:

 

            - Productions will be done in Spanish at Casa de la Luna

              4020 Georgia Avenue NW,  Washington, DC 20011.

 

            - Performances are offered on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm

              unless otherwise noted. - Tickets are $30 and $25 for Seniors and students.

 

            - A 10% discount is offered for groups of 10 or more people.

 

            - Street parking.

 

            - Closest metro stop is Georgia Avenue-Petworth. Green and Yellow Lines.

     • "CELEBRACIÓN DÍA DE LOS REYES MAGOS / The Three Kings Day Celebration"

     at Rita Bright Family Center, January, Wednesday 6, 2027, 4pm - 7pm.

     Free admission. Bilingual.

 

     • BILINGUAL ARTISTIC FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN A date with many artistic disciplines:

     Theatre, Magic, Dance, Clown, Pantomime and much more. All activities are bilingual.

     March, Saturday 13, 2027, 12pm - 4pm. Tickets $10. Under 3 years old FREE admission.

 

     • "LA LLAVE" by Humberto Constantini (Argentina) directed by Mario Marcel.

     April 2 - 18, 2027. In Spanish with English supertitles.

 

DÍA MUNDIAL DE LA POESÍA / WORLD POETRY DAY

     To commemorate humanity’s purest and most generous form of artistic expression

     Teatro de la Luna invites to join in solidary brotherhood and sisterhood to read poems for

     24 hours without interruption, from 12 midnight March 21 to 12 midnight March 22, 2027.

 

33rd POETRY MARATHON 'The Pen and The Word' / 'La Pluma y la Palabra'

     This traditional event will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 2pm-8pm

     at Casa de la Luna, in Washington, DC. This “Fiesta of the Word” will once more count

     with the presence of guest poets of our continent and Spain, and the participation of

     audience members, who read or interpret their own works or those of well-known writers.

THEATER WORKSHOPS for ADULTS and CHILDREN at Casa de la Luna

     • ACTING and PLAY READING WORKSHOPS for ADULTS (Bilingual)

     To provide actors with physical and mental training, instruct them in acting techniques,

     interpretation of texts and staging. Virtual & in-person workshops with final presentations

     from March 2027 through May. Mondays & Wednesdays (virtual) from 7pm to 9:00pm

     and Saturdays (in person) from 3pm-5:30pm

 

     • SATURDAY BILINGUAL ARTISTIC WORKSHOPS for CHILDREN (6 to 12 years)

     The first series will be from November 7 through December 12, 2026.

     The following four series are scheduled through June 5, 2027; workshops are 10am to 1pm.

     Every series of 5 Saturdays will have a final presentation the fifth Saturday of each series.

 

EXPERIENCE THEATRE PROGRAM

     The bilingual plays in repertoire of our Travelling Theatre

     are directed towards elementary school students.

Teatro de la Luna, founded in 1991, produces performing arts and other events that celebrate Latin American culture and seeks to connect Spanish-speaking and English-speaking communities. La Luna has been recognized for its cultural contributions on several occasions. La Luna Director Mario Marcel received the Elizabeth Campbell Award for advancement of the arts from the American Association of University Women’s Arlington Chapter. On two occasions, La Luna was honored with the STAR prize from the Arlington County Commission for the Arts for its administrative excellence and service to the community; In 2017, received the Working for the Community award from NBC4. La Luna Producer Nucky Walder received the Latina Woman Leadership 2009 award and the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from DC Mayor Muriel Bowser through the Office of Latino Affairs. In 2020, Teatro de la Luna was interviewed by Channel 7 WJLA and in 2021 by Telemundo-Channel 64. Marcel received a recognition from Fundación Nueva Esperanza in May 2023 and most recently, both Walder and Marcel, in April and May, 2024 from LatinX Warriors DMV and from Latinas con Voz, respectively. In December 2024, La Nacional-Spanish Benevolent Society, Bi/Coa Bicultural Community of the Americas, in New York recognized the extraordinary cultural and artistic contribution of Teatro de la Luna to the DC metropolitan area.

 

The goal of bridging the Spanish-speaking and English-speaking communities

is achieved by promoting dialogue and involving community members

in these cultural bilingual events.
