Muriel Alfonseca participated in Madame Butterfly, Cucarachita Viudita, The
Sleeping Beauty, La Herencia del Doncel, and Tabare in her native country,
the Dominican Republic. In 1993 she won first place at The Talent Night in
the Festival of the Americas in Washington DC. Muriel first performed with
Teatro de la Luna in Jaque a la Reina, The Little Prince, Between Pancho
Villa and a Naked Lady and Fairytales. Muriel has also taken part in La
Luna's Playreading Series with Cuentos de Hadas, Entre Villa y una Mujer
Desnuda and Secretos. Other activities include producing The Dominican Music
Concert at the Kennedy Center in 2000. The Jaycees ’72 organization praised
her with its Outstanding Young Award of the Dominican Republic” in 1999. |
