Born in Cúa, Venezuela, in 1957. Son of the great harpist and composer Fulgencio Aquino, he began studying harp at age 18. He, too, became an important performer in the “Tuyera” tradition (a form originated in the Tuy river valleys, also known as Central Joropo). He has appeared onstage with such important Venezuelan groups as Un Solo Pueblo, Serenata Guayanesa, Aquiles Báez and Grupo Caroao. He currently lives in Caracas, participating in weekly dances of the Valles del Tuy.
