Leyre Varela studied psychology and music in Bilbao,
Spain; her native country. Linked to the artistic world since youth, she
participated in the Faut Q’ca Scene National Theater Festival in France for
two seasons, was a member of the Dramatic Art Workshop of the University of
Deusto, and performed plays by Enrique Jardiel Poncela for three seasons
with the Lizarralde Theater Group and Company in Spain. An actor and singer
with Zarzuela Di Si, she has performed in the Zarzuelas Luisa Fernanda,
Bohemians, and Los Gavilanes. Most recently she performed in
the musical Mummy in the Closet: the Return of Eva Perón at GALA
Hispanic Theatre. After having worked in Human Resources for several years,
she is currently working on a Certificate in Leadership Coaching at
Georgetown University, which has aroused an interest in developing
Leadership Presence in Business through an actor's skill set. She also
teaches children’s theater workshops at Creative Kids and has taken part in
La Luna’s Playreadings in The Bridge by Carlos Gorostiza. |
