Karin Tovar Cárdenas, Guatemalan by heart, has a B.A. from
Francisco Marroquín University, Guatemala. Her acting credits include:
Romeo and Juliet, Don Juan Tenorio, Peace Agreements,
History of the Marimba, Mr. President, and Snow White and the
Seven Dwarves. She has appeared locally in The Adventures of
Pinocchio and Hansel and Gretel at Teatro de la Luna; in
Seneca, the Library Mouse, Believe It or Not!, and Blood
Wedding at GALA and in The Little Prince at Theatre Puppet D2.
On TV she appeared in Vanushka and Breaking the Silence, and
her film works include Poporopos (Guatemala/Spain) and The Death
of Diogenes (Guatemala/USA). She was the director of the children’s
theatre at the cultural center in her native Guatemala and she has taught
Dramatics Arts and Spanish at Tuckahoe Elementary School in VA and at the
Elsie Whitlow Stokes Charter School in Washington, DC. |
